In Netherlands, there are 3 pathways to scholarship. These are;
- Orange knowledge Program (OKP)
- Erasmus Mundus Scholarship
- Institutions e.g Rotary scholarships, Bill and Melinda Gates Scholarship.
Orange Knowledge Scholarship is the mother of all scholarships in Netherlands for international students.
OKP aims to advance the development of the capacity, knowledge and quality for both individuals and organizations in the field of Technical and Vocational Education and Training and in other fields related to priority themes in the OKP partner and countries.
Qualified countries for the scholarship programs includes;
Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Benin, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Colombia, Congo (DRC), Egypt, Ethiopia, Ghana, Guatemala, Guinea, Iraq, Jordan, Kenya, Lebanon, Liberia, Mali, Mozambique, Myanmar, Niger, Nigeria, Palestinian Territories, Rwanda, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Somalia, South Africa, South Sudan, Sudan, Suriname, Tanzania, Tunisia, Uganda, Vietnam, Yemen and Zambia.
The scholarships are awarded in a very competitive selection to highly motivated professionals who’re in a position to introduce the newly acquired skills and knowledge into their organization where they gained employment.
Scholarships are available for selection in
- Short courses (2 weeks – 12 months)
- Masters Degree Program (12 – 24 months)
NOTE: There is no OKP program for PhD.

NOTE: In your essay, talk about where you’re working and where your current work tallies with your goals. Even if you don’t have the necessary work experience, there is a way to write it because people without work experience are getting the scholarship.
